Kuki Inpi Manipur (KIM) has rejected the NSCN-IM’s rebuttal statement of 5 June 2026, describing it as an attempt to deny and evade allegations previously raised by the organisation. KIM maintains that its earlier statement was based on what it describes as documented evidence, survivor testimonies, and ground reports concerning alleged collaboration between NSCN-IM elements and Meitei radical groups. While reaffirming its respect for the right of all peoples to pursue self-determination through legitimate means, KIM states that it opposes any actions that result in violence, displacement, or suffering for the Kuki people. The organisation also calls on NSCN-IM to cease activities and rhetoric that it believes contribute to tensions and violence in the region.

Kuki Inpi Manipur (KIM) has categorically rejected the rebuttal statement issued by NSCN-IM on 5 June 2026, describing it as an exercise in denial and evasion.

According to KIM, its statement dated 5 June 2026 was neither a fabrication nor an attempt to exploit human tragedy. The organisation maintains that its position is based on what it describes as documented accounts, survivor testimonies, and ground evidence concerning alleged collaboration between NSCN-IM elements and Meitei radical groups, including allegations relating to arms supply, provision of safe havens, and participation in attacks on Kuki villages.

KIM reiterated that it respects the right of all peoples, including the Nagas, to pursue genuine self-determination through honourable and legitimate means. However, it stated that it cannot accept any movement or campaign that results in the killing, displacement, or suffering of the Kuki people.

The organisation further stated that while it values the historical ties shared between the Kuki and Naga peoples, the recent conduct of certain NSCN-IM factions in Manipur has seriously strained those relations. KIM also referenced past statements by senior NSCN-IM leaders which it believes contributed to hostility and tensions.

According to KIM, alleged collaboration with Meitei radical groups, interference with the Kuki struggle for justice, and acts of targeted violence indicate an agenda that extends beyond the pursuit of self-determination. The organisation called upon NSCN-IM to immediately cease such activities and refrain from any actions or rhetoric that could further inflame tensions.

KIM concluded by reaffirming its commitment to peace with honour while emphasizing that the Kuki people will continue to defend their lives, lands, and dignity.

The organisation stated that three individuals sustained critical injuries during the security response and accused the government of ignoring the concerns of the public. KI-SWSH further alleged that the ongoing communal tensions were initiated by NSCN-IM and the ZUF-Kamson faction and stated that public agitation would continue until action is taken against those it considers responsible.

Kuki Inpi Manipur Strongly Condemns Targeted Harassment of Villagers and Misuse of Combing Operations

Sunday, June 21, 2026

Kuki Inpi Manipur (KIM) strongly condemns what it describes as continuous harassment of Kuki-Zo villagers by Central Security Forces under the guise of combing operations, particularly in Leilon Vaiphei and surrounding areas. KIM alleges that aggressive military-style actions, including cordon-and-search operations and house-to-house raids, are being carried out against civilians already affected by violence and economic blockade. The organisation also highlights the ongoing blockade of essential supplies and demands immediate restoration of lifelines, cessation of civilian harassment, and deployment of security forces to clear national highways instead of targeting villages.
