Kuki Inpi Manipur Statement of Gratitude and Appeal to Indian and Global Christian Organisations
Kuki Inpi Manipur (KIM) expresses sincere gratitude to major national, regional, and international Christian and human rights organisations for their strong condemnation of the killing of three Kuki-Zo Baptist pastors. The organisation acknowledges their solidarity as a source of comfort during a period of sustained violence and displacement affecting the Kuki-Zo community since May 2023. KIM highlights ongoing humanitarian concerns and urges continued global attention, monitoring, and advocacy regarding the situation in Manipur, calling on these organisations to sustain pressure for justice, protection, and accountability.
Kuki Inpi Manipur (KIM) expresses its sincere gratitude to the following organisations and bodies for their strong and timely condemnation of the brutal killing of three Baptist pastors from the Kuki-Zo community:
Catholic Bishops’ Conference of India, North East India Regional Bishops’ Council, North East India Christian Council, National Dalit Christian Watch, Civil Rights Initiative Internationale, 21Wilberforce, Baptist World Alliance, Asia Pacific Baptist Federation, Council of Baptist Churches in North East India, National Council of Baptist Churches in India, Evangelical Fellowship of India, All India Catholic Union, United Christian Forum, Global Christian Forum, and World Evangelical Alliance.
KIM states that the principled stand and clear condemnation of this heinous act have brought much-needed comfort to the grieving families and the wider community during a time of deep pain and anguish. This solidarity is viewed as a reaffirmation of shared values of justice, human dignity, and compassion.
The organisation further notes that since 3 May 2023, the Kuki-Zo people have endured sustained violence, displacement, and large-scale destruction. According to KIM, entire villages have been destroyed, places of worship desecrated, and countless lives uprooted, contributing to what it describes as a continuing humanitarian crisis.
KIM expresses serious concern over the ongoing situation and states that the Kuki-Zo people are facing a systematic and prolonged campaign of violence and displacement.
In this context, KIM urges the listed organisations to continue closely monitoring the situation in Manipur and to use their platforms to speak out against ongoing violence and humanitarian suffering. It also appeals for continued prayer, moral support, and advocacy for justice and protection of affected communities.
The organisation reiterates its appreciation for the continued solidarity extended and acknowledges the role of global Christian and human rights bodies in upholding justice, peace, and human dignity.

Kuki Inpi South West Sadar Hills (KI-SWSH) has strongly condemned the use of tear gas, blank ammunition, and lathi charges by security forces against peaceful protestors during a public shutdown organized to oppose what it describes as discriminatory combing operations targeting the Kuki community. The organisation stated that three individuals sustained critical injuries during the security response and accused the government of ignoring the concerns of the public. KI-SWSH further alleged that the ongoing communal tensions were initiated by NSCN-IM and the ZUF-Kamson faction and stated that public agitation would continue until action is taken against those it considers responsible.
Kuki Inpi Manipur Strongly Condemns Targeted Harassment of Villagers and Misuse of Combing Operations
Kuki Inpi Manipur (KIM) strongly condemns what it describes as continuous harassment of Kuki-Zo villagers by Central Security Forces under the guise of combing operations, particularly in Leilon Vaiphei and surrounding areas. KIM alleges that aggressive military-style actions, including cordon-and-search operations and house-to-house raids, are being carried out against civilians already affected by violence and economic blockade. The organisation also highlights the ongoing blockade of essential supplies and demands immediate restoration of lifelines, cessation of civilian harassment, and deployment of security forces to clear national highways instead of targeting villages.
